Alicia Barron Huerta, 86, of Bandera, Texas, passed away on April 19, 2026. She was born in Pittsburg, Oklahoma to Epifanio and Domatilla Barron on December 14, 1939. She married Benancio Huerta on March 19, 1958, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who found her greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of everyday life. She loved cooking for her family, and her home was often filled with the comfort of a warm meal and time spent together around the table. For her, it was her way to show love and bring people close.
She was an avid reader who always found both joy and relaxation in stories of all kinds. She also enjoyed working on puzzle books and trying her luck with scratch-off tickets. In her quieter moments, she could be found tending to her garden, taking pride in caring for her plants and watching them grow.
She was a loyal fan of the San Antonio Spurs, always cheering them on with enthusiasm.
Above all, she will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she gave so freely to her family. She had a gentle, caring spirit and a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued.
Alicia is preceded in death by her parents Epifanio and Domatilla Barron, Gustavo (Tiger) Cruz, Antonio Cruz, Rico Cruz, Celia Martinez, Verto Barron.
Alicia is survived by her husband Benancio Huerta; children Michael Huerta and wife Melissa, Virginia Edins and husband Shane, Ben Huerta and Juan Huerta; grandchildren Michael and Kaylyn Huerta; and Siblings Louis Barron, Henry Barron, Ralph Barron, and Eva Anjelina Barron.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Bandera Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, also at Bandera Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery II.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bandera Funeral Chapel.
