Barbara Lynn Zaborski (Sutch), 86, of Lakehills, Texas passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, in Bandera, Texas. Born to Herbert K. and Helen Mae Sutch in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in April 1940. Married to Robert Edward Zaborski on February 13, 1970, in Los Angeles, California for 43 years until his passing in 2013.
Barbara was given a second chance at companionship with Mr. Ron Bird. The two experienced the wonder of travel to foreign countries such as Spain and St. Martin. And they both hold a deep love for the fighting Texas A&M Aggies and attended many home football games in Aggieland over the years. The two remained close until her passing.
Barbara graduated from Wilkensburg High School of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in 1958. And as a graduate of American Citizen Secretarial College, she excelled at a variety of vocations in her career including working as a Secretary in Los Angeles, California and a Receptionist in Plantation, Florida. She spent several years raising her beautiful daughters to be the strong, God-fearing women they are today.
Known to many as “Barb”, and “Barbie” only to her husband, she exuded a fierce love for her family and friends. Her abounding creativity and steadfast love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, shows in the enduring legacy of her family. A die-hard Steelers and Spurs fan, she could always be heard hootin’ and hollerin’ for “her boys”. And who could forget Barbara’s love of local-legend, country and Americana artist, Robert Earl Keen, Jr.? She could often be found listening to her favorite songs: “It’s the Little Things” and “Swervin’ In My Lane”.
Barbara is proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Zaborski and her parents, Herbert K. and Helen Mae Sutch.
Barbara is survived by her cousins Paul Clydesdale, Doug Clydesdale and children, and Debbie Swisher and children; her daughters: Shari Stettner (George), Kim Patton (George Martinez), and Patricia Langner; her grandchildren: Cheryl Jensen, Jessica Lee (Ethan), Elizabeth Stettner, and Anton Stettner; and her great-grandchildren: Owen Lee, Lorelai Olson, and Magnolia Lee.
The Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11:00AM at Lakehills United Methodist Church, 150 Ave. J, Lakehills, Texas, 78063. Potluck fellowship meal to follow.
The family wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to Sid Peterson Hospital and Peterson Hospice for providing excellent care and support in Barbara’s final days.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bandera Funeral Chapel.
