William "Bill" Cobler, 72, of Bandera, Texas, passed from this life's journey to the next on July 25, 2016. The same day as he began his earthly journey in 1944.\r\n\r\nHe grew up in the Houston, Texas area and graduated from Bellaire High School. Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War era. He was very proud of always being a marine. Outdoor activities were always a great pleasure for Bill and he was happy to go fishing or hunting. During his more active years he was involved with his horses and enjoyed riding in the hills of Texas. \r\n\r\nBill enjoyed many occupations, some being, Harris County Sheriff Deputy, owner-operator, oil-field hot shot service trucks and retired from U. S. Government Service at the Kerrville Texas Veterans Medical Center.\r\n\r\nHe was an endowed life member of Rising Star Masonic Lodge #429, Center Point, TX, and a life member of Disabled American Veterans.\r\n\r\nBill cherished being part of his grandchildren's lives, Kelley, Ty and Jack Cobler of Cut and Shoot, TX. Brooke and Pat Blackburn of Kerrville, TX.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to thank special friends who made this time of transition less difficult: Lawson Wooten of Richmond, TX; Ray Albritton of Bandera, TX; Steve Carvajal of Bandera, TX and Dennis Luby of Bellaire, TX. A special thank you to the caring hospice staff at the Kerrville VA Hospital.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Regina and Floyd Cobler; brother, Thomas Cobler.\r\n\r\nBill is survived by his wife, Claudia; son, Bill Cobler, (Myla) of Cut and Shoot, TX; step-son, Ken Blackburn, (Kristy) of Kerrville, TX.\r\n\r\nNo services are planned.
