Clara Snavley

Clara Wisniewski Snavley, 93, of Pipe Creek, Tx, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, at her home.

 

Clara was born at home in Titusville, PA on June 21, 1930, to Andrew and Julia Ziolkowski Wisniewski.  Clara married Neil Nolan Snavley in November 1951 in Titusville, PA.

 

Clara went to Colestock High School in Titusville, PA and graduated in 1949.

Clara was an excellent wife and an at home mother for her four children. Clara worked for both J.C. Penney and Target Dept. stores performing stocking and charge-back.

 

Clara is preceded in death by her husband Neil and sons Rodger Alan and Ronald LeRoy.  Clara is preceded in death by 7 of her 9 siblings: Leonard; Andrew; Bernadine; Alice; Theodore; Eugene, and Donald.

 

Clara is survived by her daughters, Deidra DeNell Snavley Mitchell of Hermitage, TN and Lavonne Lynn Snavley of Pipe Creek, TX. 

 

Clara is survived by her grandsons, Patrick Ryan (Angela) Mitchell of Hermitage, TN, Matthew Shane Mitchell of Hermitage, TN, and Neil Anthony (Jessie)Mitchell of Hendersonville, TN.  Clara is survived by her son Ronald’s ward, Allen James French of San Antonio, TX. Great grandsons include Jonas Luke Mitchell, Joseph Maximus and Michael Logan Mitchell, and Henry Rhodes Mitchell.

 

Clara is survived by her sisters, Margie Wisniewski Gaeta of Slidell, LA, and Mary Rose Wisniewski Fowler of Canton, OH.  Clara is survived by her sister-in-law, Lois Snavley of Palmer, AK. 

 

Clara is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

Clara was a woman who recognized Jesus Christ as the LORD and Savior of the world and the Savior of her soul.  Clara was an avid student of the Bible, the WORD of God, and enjoyed fellowship with others.

 

During the Great Depression, Clara’s young life was marked with hunger and want.  As a young person she would gather coal off the train tracks to warm the family home and went to work as soon as possible to add to the family’s income.  Clara was a strong walker from walking to and from her home in the “heights.”

 

Clara was an artist and enjoyed oil painting.  Clara will be remembered as a kind, friendly, generous, and strong woman.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
