Clifford Aaron Queen, 58, of Bandera, Texas, passed away on November 4, 2025, in Austin, Texas. He was born on December 16, 1967, in Rantoul, Illinois, at Chanute Air Force Base, to Karen Louise Queen and Ronald Gene Queen.
He grew up in Bandera, where he attended Bandera High School and graduated with the Class of 1986. A proud member of the school’s football team, he was known for his bright mind and kind spirit. Excelling in subjects such as mathematics and history, he often spent his free time tutoring his sister, Brenda, in challenging subjects like government, with a gift for breaking down complicated topics with ease. From an early age, he was known for being responsible, organized, and dependable, traits that would define him throughout his life.
Over the years, he worked for his family’s business, Queen’s Janitorial Service, before joining the soap factory. He later served as a shift manager at Burger King for twelve years, admired for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. Always the first to arrive, he took pride in being early and ready to give his best every day. He was blessed to share eleven joyful years with his beloved partner, Estella Chaves, creating a companionship built on love.
A devoted family man and self-proclaimed “momma’s boy,” he shared a close bond with his mother, Karen, often talking with her on the phone for hours and visiting her as often as he could, never missing a chance to express his love for her. His love extended to his sister, Brenda, and brother, Daniel, always checking in, sending good morning messages, sharing laughter, and offering a helping hand whenever needed. Family was at the heart of everything he did, and he made sure the people he loved knew how much they meant to him.
He enjoyed the simple things in life, whether relaxing in his recliner watching a movie or barbecuing during the holidays, where the table grew silent as everyone savored his cooking. Clifford had a deep love for animals, caring for every stray that crossed his path, feeding all the cats on his property, and lovingly fostering Ivory, his mother’s cat, along with Sheila, his own cat, whom he found as a kitten and raised with great affection. A skilled leatherworker, he handcrafted wallets and other items, joyfully gifting them to his daughter Caren as well as to his nieces and nephews.
Embracing God, he recognized the blessings bestowed upon all and lived each day with understanding and gratitude. A man of strong faith, he often quoted Bible verses and never failed to say grace before meals at family gatherings. His devotion to God and his family was steady, kind, and full of love. Those who knew him will remember his warm smile, gentle humor, and the way he cared for everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Gene Queen and Karen Louise Queen.
Clifford is lovingly remembered by his brother, Daniel G. Queen; sister, Brenda L. Queen; daughters, Caren A. Queen and Caitlin M. Horner; two grandchildren, Orabella and Odir Jr. Martinez; partner, Estella Chaves, her children and grandchildren; brother-in-law, Faisal Alotaibi; sister-in-law, Susan Queen; and nine nieces and nephews: James Hamilton, Stephanie Queen, Heather Queen, Savanna Queen, Virginia Queen, Salma Alotaibi, Salem Alotaibi, Jennifer Gaddy, and Duston Gaddy.
A devoted partner, father, brother, uncle, and friend, he will live on in our hearts, prayers, and memories, deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Bandera Cemetery.
The Queen family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Estella and her family, Dr. Ace and his wife Nan Alsup, as well as all those who provided care, kindness, and support during his final days.
