Dana Sue Greebon was born to Clarence Weatherford and LaDora Weatherford Docherty in Carrizo, Texas, on September 5, 1951. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in La Grange, Texas, on the morning of October 15, 2025, at the age of 74.
Dana grew up in Cotulla, Texas, where she loved barrel racing and helping with life on the ranch. She often shared fond memories of her senior trip to Washington, D.C., and of Dallas Cowboys players like Roger Staubach visiting the ranch where she grew up.
On March 11, 1974, Dana married the love of her life, Wallace Autry Greebon. They began their family in Pearsall, Texas, later moved to Pleasanton, where they raised their two children, Tracy and Trent, and eventually settled in La Grange after retirement to be closer to their grandsons.
Dana’s greatest joy came from being a stay-at-home mother and supporting her children in every activity and milestones. She also worked in many roles over the years, including running a daycare and serving as a veterinary technician’s assistant, among other jobs that allowed her to care for others and stay active in her community.
In her later years, Dana enjoyed antiquing, cheering on her grandsons, and caring for her dachshunds, Winnie and Fritz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Weatherford and LaDora Weatherford Docherty; her brother, Bobby Weatherford; her sister, Cheryl Weatherford May; and her son-in-law, Michael Knapik.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bandera Funeral Chapel.
