It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel DeLeon, a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 64.
Daniel was one of a kind. He was a goofy, fun-loving individual who had a way of making memories wherever he went. He had a personality that people remembered, a heart that loved deeply, and a presence that could light up a room. If you knew Daniel, you knew he was someone who could make you laugh, give you a hard time, and leave you with a story to tell. He was the kind of person who seemed to know everybody. You could drive a hundred miles away, and somehow, there would still be someone he knew. That was just Daniel!
Above all else, Daniel loved spending time with his family. His wife, Sharon DeLeon, was an important part of his life, and he cherished the time he spent with his stepchildren, grandchildren, niece, nephew, great-nieces, and great-nephews. His family brought him joy, and the memories they shared with him will forever hold a special place in their hearts. He was also an amazing brother, uncle, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Daniel had many things he enjoyed in life, and fishing was certainly one of them. Anyone who went fishing with him probably remembers just how competitive he could get! He would get sooo mad when everyone else was catching fish and he wasn't, or when a fish managed to get away. Those moments were part of what made him so special and gave his family plenty of laughs and unforgettable memories. Even in those frustrating fishing moments, Daniel gave everyone another story to laugh about and remember for years to come.
When it came to football, Daniel proudly supported his Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Oklahoma Sooners. Whether watching his favorite teams or sharing his opinions about the game, football was another one of the things he loved. He also enjoyed dancing and going to the casino, always finding ways to enjoy himself and make the most of the moments that life gave him.
Daniel lived life in his own way, with a personality all his own. He was funny, memorable, and full of character. He leaves behind countless memories, laughter, and stories that will continue to be shared by the people who loved him. His absence will be felt deeply, especially during family gatherings, fishing trips, football games, and all the little moments when someone will wish he were there to share in the fun.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are grateful for the time we had with him and the memories that will remain with us forever. The love Daniel gave to his family and the friendships he built throughout his life will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on through the people he loved, the laughter he brought, and the stories that will be told for generations to come.
Daniel leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon DeLeon; his stepchildren, Kristopher Thompson and Tiffany (Guy) Rigby; and his beloved grandchildren, Kaydence, Kinsley, and Colton.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Robert (Sherry) DeLeon, Steve DeLeon, Rene (Rose) DeLeon, Roy DeLeon, Charlie (Ecey) DeLeon, Mary (Henry) Cervantes, and Janie Smith, along with his extended family, including his niece, nephew, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10 AM at Bandera Funeral Chapel with a funeral service beginning at 12 PM. A burial will follow at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina, TX.
Daniel, you were loved more than words can express, and you will be missed more than you could ever know. We will miss your goofy ways, your laughter, your love for family, and all the little things that made you who you were. We will think of you when we gather together, when we watch a football game, when we go fishing, and whenever a memory brings a smile to our faces through our tears.
Until we meet again, may you rest in peace. You will forever be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bandera Funeral Chapel.
