Douglas Ray Hyatt of Mountain Home, Texas, passed away on May 8, 2020 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in Austin, Texas to Claria May Barnes Hyatt and Carl Ray Hyatt on June 23, 1949. He married Donna Lester of Lampasas, Texas on August 22, 1985 in Lampasas, Texas. \r\n\r\nHe went to school at Tivy High School in Kerrville, Texas. He was self-employed for 33 years. He served in the Marine Corps.\r\n\r\nDoug was very much involved in 4-H for over 30 years and loved helping the kiddeos. He and Donna received The Commissioner Court Adult Leadership Award from Kerr County in 2010.\r\n\r\nDoug was preceded in death by mother, Claria May Barnes Hyatt; father, Carl Ray Hyatt; son, Jason Hyatt; and step-son, Jason Lamb.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by wife, Donna Hyatt; son, William Hyatt of Kerrville; son, Bobby and wife, Alecia Hyatt of Seguin; daughters, Cheyanne Hyatt Decker and husband, Hayden Decker of Rockport and Tonya Lamb James and husband, Taylor James of Statesville, North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Randi Hyatt of Abilene, Texas; Bruce and Gail Kay of Bryan, Texas; brother, Jimmy and wife, Sandra Hyatt of Cross Plains, Texas; brother, Billy and wife, Suzie Hyatt of Potosi, Texas; brother, Tommy Hyatt of Kerrville, Texas; grandchildren, Alexis Hyatt, Coby Hyatt, Clifton Hyatt, Montana Kay, Nathenial James, Rylee Hyatt, Hayden Hyatt, and Robert Ray Hyatt; two great-grandchildren, Haylee Lynn Decker and Scarlett Hyatt; mother-in-law, Reta Whitley of Bertram, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nThe family has chosen spreading Doug's ashes at his home place in Mountain Home at a later date as he had requested. At that time, they will contact friends and family of time and date.\r\n\r\nFly High Cowboy, We Love You!\r\n\r\nDue to the Coronavirus, there will not be a memorial service. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. \r\n\r\nThe family of Doug Hyatt wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Singh, Dr. Fritch, Dr. Vardiman, Dr. Campos and their nursing staff for the excellent care given to him during his battle with cancer.
