Douglas Mc Carroll of Bandera, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025. Born on April 29, 1949, in Newark, New Jersey, Douglas grew up in Westwood, New Jersey with his parents, Raymond Mc Carroll, Lucille Eisinger Mc Carroll, and sister Lesley. Douglas later made his home in Reading, Pennsylvania; Keysville, Virginia; New Orleans, Louisiana, and finally in Bandera, Texas where he spent the last few years close to his beloved sister Lesley.
During his high school years in Westwood, he attended Westwood High School where he was seen as Drum Major of the Cardinal Band. A lifelong musician, a musical genius who could play any instrument you handed him, he had a voice with perfect pitch. In high school he also contributed to the band as first trombonist and for four years to the stage band in which he also played the trombone. He was a founding member of the combo the "Tikis" as a bass guitarist, organist, pianist and vocalist. He remained an avid musician all his life in many genres but mostly Rock and Roll.
He loved music, all sports, playing golf, cycling, concert going, travel, reading, anywhere where there was a beach or water, and especially his family.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lucille McCarroll, and his sidekick cousin Donald Baduini, Aunts, Dotty Eisinger Baduini, Carol Eisinger Webb. He is survived by his devoted and "favorite" sister Lesley Montemayor (Robert); daughter Lauren Kehres (Clint); son Kevin Mc Carroll (Kristin); his three grandchildren Cora Grace, Charlotte Jane (Lauren and Clint); and Murphy June (Kevin and Kristin); niece Julie Montemayor Smith (Derek); niece Amy Montemayor Mowery (Zack); nephew Christopher Montemayor (Tamara); closest cousins Philip Baduini; Timothy Webb (Peggy); Patricia Webb De La Cadena (Gaston); five great nephews; and longtime high school friends and fellow "Tikis", Michael Goonan (Marilyn); and Joe Datillo.
Douglas touched the lives of all who knew him..His quiet, caring, spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. "Rock on Doug".
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Bandera Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will take place at Bandera Funeral Chapel on Thursday, July 17, at 10:00 A.M. with interment to follow at Bandera Cemetery. Troy Konvicka will be officiating.
The family also wants to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at Cedar Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and to the residents there as well, for loving on and caring for "Dougie"
