Edward Allan Overand, 78, passed away on September 12, 2025 at his home in Lakehills, TX, Bandera County.
He was born in McKeesport, PA to Herbert Alexandr Overand and Sara Eckman-Overand on July 16, 1947. He married V. Kaye Compton-Powell on June 19, 1999 in Clark County Nevada.
He graduated from California State University San Francisco with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. For many years, Allan worked in sales for many different companies in many different positions.
He was a Viet Nam War veteran serving in the Army. He was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for his meritorious service in the face of the enemy.
Upon moving to Lakehills, he joined the Western Heritage Cowboy Church where he always had a friendly smile and welcome for any new people, visitors, or those he had never met.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sara and Herbert Overand.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kaye, his daughter, Jennifer Teel-Sablica and husband, Luke and his step-daughter by marriage, Heather Powell, who he loved as his own daughter. Also, surviving Allan, are his two grandsons, Skylar Teel and Chance Powell who will miss him deeply; Chance’s wife Jaden Powell and their children Rylan and Madeline. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Kimberly Witherspoon and husband Tony and their twin boys, Reese and Rafe.
Allan loved his family with all his heart whether they were close or far away. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him.
Allan had no brothers or sisters, but he had many cousins and friends who miss him so much.
On December 3, 2025 at 2:15 a brief ceremony will be held at Allan’s interment at the Houston National Cemetery at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
Memorials may be given to the Viet Nam Veterans Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the Western Heritage Cowboy Church’s Youth Department.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bandera Funeral Chapel.
