Edward Allan Small, age 70, of Pipe Creek, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2014, surrounded by his friends and family. He was born to Francis and Georgie Small on January 26, 1944.\r\n\r\nEd earned his A.A.S. degree in Data Processing from SAC in 1974. Then He completed his B.S. degree in Computer and System Design from UTSA in 1989. Eddie worked for the San Antonio Express-News for 47 years, starting in the Newsroom Department setting type and working his way up to the IT Department. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1970. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Patsy, of 46 years.\r\n\r\nEd is survived by his daughter Heather Blair and husband Justin; son Scott Small; brother Francis Small, and wife Molly; sister Carol and husband Chris; grandchildren, Shelby Miller and her husband Cody Miller, Wyatt and Lyndsay Blair, and Samantha Small; great grandchildren Waylon and Kennedy Miller.\r\n\r\nEd loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He found great joy in watching them excel in whatever sport it was the season for. He was a member of the Bluebonnet Miata Car Club and an elder and charter member at Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church. He also enjoyed taking photographs of anything and everything. He was loved by many and his family and friends will miss his sense of humor and love for his family. His family takes great comfort in knowing that he is in the presence of his Lord and Savior and has been reunited with his wife and our mom. "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."\r\n\r\nA celebration of life will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to join the family for lunch at Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church immediately following the service.\r\n\r\nPlease send your memorials to Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church, P.O.
