Elouise Virginia Mangold of Bandera, Texas passed away on January 20, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Bandera, Texas to Walter and Lorena Welch on August 1, 1941.
Elouise was deeply involved in her parish, St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where she served for many years as the CCD Coordinator. She also held leadership roles in the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, PTO, served as a room mother, and supported the Athletic Booster Club. Alongside her late husband Vernon and their sons, she devoted much of her life to raising cattle and goats. Elouise was an avid reader who loved history and enjoyed traveling.
Elouise is preceded in death by her husband; Vernon Mangold, daughter; Debra Eileen Mangold, and granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Mangold. Father; Walter Welch, Mother; Lorena Welch, Sisters; Geneva Welch, Dorothy Welch-Mosely and Patricia Fernandez.
Elouise is survived by her children; Michael Mangold (Karen), James Mangold (Julie), Diane Bauml (Marty), Thomas Mangold, Melissa Houser (Brian), and Paul Mangold (Amber).
Her beloved grandchildren; Brandon Mangold (Lindsey), Tanner Mangold (Shelia), Jason Mangold (Lana), Hunter Houser (Sydney), Zachary Houser (Courtney), Katie Robinson (Daniel), McKenna Mangold, Scott Mangold, Kyle Bauml, Alex Bauml, Meghan Harbuck (Colby), Andie Holland (Brandon), Blake Mangold, Aubrey Mangold, Payson Mangold, Aggie Mangold.
Great grandchildren; Maeleigh, Ellie, Thomas, Emery, Hudson, Hayden, Ruth, Tillie, Harriet, and Ryker. Sisters; Shirley Scarborough, Mary Ann Shockey, Teresa Koplyay, Brothers; Charley Welch, Kenneth Welch and David Welch.
Visitation will be at 6pm on January 30, 2026, with a Rosary to follow at 7pm at Bandera Funeral Chapel.
Mass will be held at 10am on January 31, 2026, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery (old).
Pallbears will be Brandon Mangold, Tanner Mangold, Jason Mangold, Hunter Houser, Zachary Houser, Scott Mangold, Kyle Bauml, and Payson Mangold. Honorary pallbearers are Blake Mangold, Charley Welch, Kenneth Welch, David Welch and Randy Gerdes.
