Elsie M. Kruse, 77, passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2021 in her home, surrounded by family in Kerrville, TX. She was born in Decatur, Alabama to Robert William and Rebecca Mae Waldrep on June 30th, 1943. She married Alvin F. Kruse on November 5th, 1961 in Phoenix, AZ. She attended school in Tolleson, AZ and worked at Pete's Fish and Chips during her teenage years. Elsie and her husband, Alvin, raised their children in Flagstaff, AZ, where Elsie spent most of her days as a homemaker. After Alvin passed away, she moved to Kerrville, TX volunteering at senior living centers, New Beginning's and Calvary Temple Church. Elsie was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother who always encouraged others. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; son, Alvin Ray; parents, Robert and Rebecca Waldrep; sister, Ruth Walden; brothers, JD, Charles and Ed Waldrep. Survivors include children, Fritz and Linda Kruse, Jim and Twilene Kruse, and Scott and Kathy Craig; grandchildren, Brandy Kruse, Robby Kruse, Cody Kruse, JR Kruse, Kacy Kruse, Taesha Pettigrew, Hayden Pettigrew, Christopher Craig, Brandon Craig, Kirsten Craig, Kenneth Craig; and 21 great-grandchildren. In Texas, services will be July 17, 2021, 10 AM, Calvary Temple Church. In Arizona, graveside services will be held July 24, 2021, 8 AM, West Resthaven Cemetery, Glendale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to make a donation in Elsie's Honor to Calvary Temple Church for vacation bible school. The family would like to extend their thanks to Peterson Hospice, Caring Senior Services and Meals on Wheels for their loving care of Elsie over the past year.
