Emily Iness

August 16, 1944 — November 23, 2021

Emily Camille Iness (also known as Millie Camille, or some formally knew her as Ms. Hamilton) of Bandera passed away on November 23rdin San Antonio, Texas at the age of 77.

She was born in Medina, Texas to Wayne Raymond Rosquist and Effie Jane (Bartell) Rosquist on August 16, 1944. She was the 2nd born of 5 siblings. Camille was raised in Bandera Texas and graduated as Valedictorian in 1962 at Bandera High School. While working and raising two young children, she attended Schriener University and recieved an associate's degree. Next, she attended University of Texas Austin and received an Association of Arts in Elementary Ed. She then proceeded to UTSA and obtained a Bachelors, with a major in Elementary education and a minor in Spanish and finally a Masters in ESL at UTSA.  She worked as a teacher for Bandera ISD, Dilley ISD, Faith Christian Academy and Pipe Creek Christian School for a total of 53 years.  She retired the summer of 2021 and immediately began substitute teaching. She was a beloved seamstress for the community and babysat half of this community but she was also very involved in the First Baptist Church of Bandera since she was a little girl.  She was a Sunday School teacher for the 2&3 year olds, served in Awanas and coordinated the FBC Thanksgiving dinner deliveries/routes for our elderly or shut ins in the community (she always took the hardest/longest delivery route for herself so that the other drivers could get back in time to eat at the church with their families). She is a former board member at Bandera Helping Hands. She is the author of several children's books, including some bilingual books. Her love for God and all his children was immeasurable.  She spent her whole life as a soldier for the Lord and setting the best example of Gods love.  There is no denying that her presence was always heart warming and her smile and giggles could light up an entire room. If you knew her you loved her. She was a one of a kind genuinely sweet soul

Camille is preceded in death by the love of her life, Jerry Steven Iness, whom she had married January 30, 1987 in Dilley Texas. She is also preceded in death by her baby brother (Arnold) Ray Strickland, her mother Effie Jane Strickland, and her father Wayne Raymond Rosquist.
