Erin Clay

Erin Albert Clay, age 79, of Pipe Creek, Texas, passed away on August 28, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas.  He was born in San Antonio, Texas to Albert Arthur Clay and Lillian Dorotheia Streich on August 17, 1943.  He was married to Linda Barr Clay on March 6, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas.

He went to school in San Antonio until they moved to Seguin, Texas where he graduated from Seguin High School.  He also attended San Antonio College.

He worked in the Elevator Trade for 36 years and after retiring, he was an Elevator Inspector for 23 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Clay and Lillian Ackermann, his brother Daniel Arthur Clay, his sister Dorothy Schievelbein, and his Sister-in-law Bonnie Barr Belt.

He is survived by his wife Linda Clay, son Troy Clay, son Darrin Clay and wife Ann, daughter Karen McCarty and husband Scott, and son Timothy Clay and wife Cari.

His sister Fannie Ruth (Susie) Cochran and her husband Kenneth and sister-in-law Darlene Clay.  He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Also Brother-in-law D.R. Barr and wife Cynthia, Brother-in-law Jackie Belt, Sister-in-law Sunny Barr Holley and husband Roy, and Sister-in-law Donna Barr Walpole and husband Charlie.

A visitation will be held prior to Funeral Services from 10am-11am,  on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel, 1214 Mulberry, Bandera, Texas 78003, with memorial services being at 11:00am, a reception is to follow at Son Timothy Clay’s Home.
