Ernestine Patricia Green

Ernestine Patricia Green, 92, of Bandera, Texas, passed away on December 23, 2025, in Decatur, Arkansas. She was born on the family farm near Gould, Oklahoma to Frederick and Cora Rawlins on December 28, 1932. She married James Oliver Green on July 15, 1950, in Visalia, California.

She was initially employed as a teller for the Bank of America in Avenal, California, but was promoted over the years to become the branch manager until her retirement. She served our Lord in the Church of Christ for her entire life and was a member of the Sojourner organization for many years.

After 75 years of marriage, Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband, James Green, on October 9, 2025.

She is survived by her three children: James Frederick Green (Albuquerque, NM), Joni Denise Green (Decatur, AR), and Cathi Patricia Madrigal (Fuquay Varina, NC), her brother, Harold Lea “Pete” Rawlins (Portland, OR), five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ernestine will be laid to rest in the Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina, Texas. 

A Memorial Service will be announced in the Spring.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bandera Funeral Chapel.
