Esther Ruth Klein Everett, age 97 of Bandera, Tx passed from this life on March 22, 2024. She was born in Fredericksburg, Tx to Alfons and Meta Catharina Klein on October 12, 1926. She married Jesse Allen Everett on July 10, 1946 in Fredericksburg, Tx.
Esther and husband, Jesse, moved to Bandera in 1947 and established Everett’s Watch Repair and Jewelry shop. She was actively engaged in the operation of this business, later known as Everett’s, for 65 years, closing in 2012. Esther always treated every customer as her best friend. For generations, she filled requests for wedding, birthday, anniversary, graduation gifts and provided recommendations for “that most perfect” selection. She loved her customers as famiIy and always had time to listen and visit with everyone. When she was not at the store, she loved working in her yard and garden.
Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse; her parents, Alfons and Meta Klein; her brothers, Rudy Klein, Kenneth Klein and Clayton Klein.
Esther is survived by children Diane Crain and husband Bill of Pearsall, Susan Neuenschwander and husband Jerry of Bandera, and Zane Everett and wife Jane of Bandera; grandchildren Dawn Mondrik and husband Tommy, Amy Dugosh and husband Justin, Ben Crain and wife Berenice, Joel Neuenschwander and wife Zoey, Jace Neuenschwander and wife Karen, Kyle Everett and wife Tina, Jenny Oliver and husband Robert; great grandchildren Chase Mondrik and wife Megan, Justin Mondrik and wife Carolina, Hallie Dugosh, Madison Dugosh, Brandon Crain, Brenna Crain, Jonathan Neuenschwander, Julia Neuenschwander, Joseph Neuenschwander and Kaden Neuenschwander, Jesse Everett and wife Alice, Taryn Everett, Jade Oliver, Tristan Oliver, and Keelan Oliver; great great granddaughter, Harper Mondrik; many nieces and nephews and long time friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm on Sunday, March 31 at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel in Bandera, Tx. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, April 1 at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel in Bandera, Tx with Reverand Dr. Dennis Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Bandera Cemetery, Bandera, Tx.
A special thanks to the staff at Bandera Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and to Alamo Hospice for the loving and compassionate care of Esther. We appreciate all the prayer warriors of Bandera Methodist Church and Grace Lutheran Church.
