Fern Lucille Smith

Fern Smith of Mico, TX passed away on January 22, 2026,  in San Antonio, TX Fern was born in Santa Fe, NM to Jack Merced Fowler and Barbara Joan Fowler on March 30, 1951. Fern married Kenneth Smith on October 13, 1984 in Santa Fe, NM 

Fern attended Loretto School in Santa Fe and graduated at Santa Fe High School. Fern worked as a bookkeeper and office manager to many construction companies in Santa Fe, and while working as a office manager and bookkeeper for White Swan Linen, she married Kenneth Smith. 

Fern was preceded in death by her father Jack Fowler and her mother Barbara Fowler, and her brother Joaquin Fowler. 

Fern is survived by her sister Leslie Medina in Santa Fe, NM. 

Visitation will be on February 5th at 1pm CST at the Bandera Funeral Chapel. 

Funeral services will be held at the Bandera Funeral Chapel at 2pm CST with Pastor Mark Caronna officiating. Fern will be cremated after the service. 

The Smith family wish to extend their sincere thanks to the ER and ICU staff at the Methodist Westover Hills for their skills and professional manner in which they cared for Fern Smith and the compassion towards the family. 

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Bandera Funeral Chapel.
