Florence Grace Antoine White served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with gladness of heart and thankfulness in her spirit for the many blessings she graciously received and experienced as she shared her faith with all who listened.\r\n\r\nOn Friday, May 8, 2020, she quietly closed her eyes and rested from her labour, surrounded by her children and a dear cousin/friend.\r\n\r\nBorn in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 7, 1940. She was one of 8 children born to Edgar Antoine Sr. and Sedillia Roubleaux Antoine. On June 14, 1959, she married her love, John Drew White Sr., and to that union 7 beautiful children were born.\r\n\r\nIn 1973, Florence moved with her children to Kerrville, Texas. She worked as a nursing assistant for the Colonial Nursing Home, the Kerrville State Hospital and for a short time, she was employed at Peterson Hospital.\r\n\r\nShe loved her family, she loved people, and she loved talking about Jesus to anyone she met.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, Sedillia Roubleaux and Edgar Antoine Sr.; husband, John Drew White Sr.; two sisters, Cecilia Martin and Deborah Matthews; her brother, Edgar Antoine Jr. (known as Brother); a precious daughter-in-law, Elizabeth White; and a dear aunt, Matilda Taylor. \r\n\r\nShe leaves to cherish her memory, her children, John D. White Jr., Veronica Morgan (Tommy), Shelia White, Cheryl White, Kevin White, Michael White and Leslie Butler (Samuel Jr.); seven grandchildren, Bryant Morgan, Matthew Morgan, Samuel Butler III (Nataya), Meaghan Butler, Rachel White, Kevin A. White Jr., and Milan Fontenot; 2 great-grandchildren, Zariyah Butler and Landen Butler; siblings, Rulos Garvenia (Doris) Davalos, Gloria (August) Roussel, Fred (Pat) Antoine, and her youngest sister, Donna (Hubert) Hankton; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be held Friday, May 15, 2020 from 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n\r\nGraveside services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Garden of Memories Cemetery officiated by Pastor Ernest Taylor.
