Homer Joseph "Pat" Patterson, 72, of Kerrville, TX, passed away on September 26th in San Antonio, TX after a brief illness. He was born in Scotts Bluff, NE to Greta Adeline Williams Patterson and Chester Virgil Patterson on September 21, 1943. He married the love of his life Jimmie Nell White on August 26th, 1965 in Boerne, TX.\r\n \r\nHe served in the Navy at Beeville, TX. He later graduated from Howard Payne University. He was called to the ministry and served as pastor at Calvary Baptist in May, TX, Park Road 37 Baptist Church in Lakehills, TX, Grace Fellowship in Mason TX, and at Grace Bible Chapel in Kerrville, TX. \r\n \r\nPat embraced his calling to the ministry with his whole heart and a servant's attitude. He loved his wife, his children, and grandchildren with the same selfless attitude. He loved playing golf with his friends and family.\r\n \r\nPat is preceded in death by his parents, Chester Virgil Patterson and Greta Adeline Patterson; his sister, Jeannine Fancher; and his wife's parents, Earl and Ethel White who loved him as a son.\r\n \r\nPat is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jimmie Nell Patterson; his children, Machelle Scogin and her husband James Scogin, Kevin Patterson, Keith Patterson and his wife Stacey, and Anna Beth Patterson; his brothers and sisters, Chester Patterson, Sandra Cheatham, Rick Patterson, Mary Jane Brown, Gary Patterson, and Lonnie Patterson; his grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, and Mason Scogin, Haydn Mobley, Bailer, Adelin, and Gracin Patterson.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St., Kerrville, TX. \r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Grace Bible Chapel, 241 Southway Dr., Kerrville, TX, with Keith Lamb, Terry Jacobs, and Paul Kehnar officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.\r\n \r\nThe family of Pat Patterson wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the friends and family at Grace Bible Chapel, the doctors and nurses at Peterson Regional Medical Center and Methodist Texsan Hospital.
