Howard Earl Frazier

September 3, 1944 — May 29, 2023

Howard Earl "Buddy" Frazier, 78, of Pipe Creek, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Howard was born on September 3, 1944, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to Bill and Frances (McRorey) Frazier, the oldest of four children. He attended school in Carrizo Springs before transferring to Robert E. Lee High School when his family moved to San Antonio.

Howard was a loving family man, a devoted husband to his wife of 52 years, Nancy (Maness) Frazier, until her passing in 2017, a caring and providing Daddy to his children, a funny and joking Papa to his grandkids, and a wonderful father-in-law to his children’s spouses. An eternal optimist with a positive attitude about everything in life, Howard always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. Nicknamed “Buddy” early in life by his family, Howard was a friend to all and always willing to help those in need. An auto mechanic by trade, Howard owned several automotive repair shops over the years to provide for his family, which also allowed him to drag race cars in his younger years. He liked to fix things and remodel in his spare time, and he especially loved woodworking. Howard also enjoyed inventing new dishes in the kitchen, with his famously big weekend breakfasts and chocolate fudge being family favorites. Howard played baseball in school, where he could pitch with pinpoint accuracy, and shared that love of sports by coaching his children in baseball, softball, and basketball. With a love and talent for music, Howard could play any song on the guitar and fiddle by ear, which was a talent also passed on to his children. Howard was known to dream big and was always planning his next chance at becoming a millionaire. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Howard is preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Skip Cole, seven aunts, and numerous cousins.

Howard is survived by his children, Cheryl (Jimmy Betts) Roberts of Vega; Wendy (John) Kopecki of Kosciusko; Cindy (Walter Tribett) Frazier of Pipe Creek; Jacob (Lori) Frazier of Leander; and Matthew (Robin) Frazier of Pipe Creek; by his grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) and Matthew Ginapp; Alyssa (Stanislav), Kayla, Haley, and Megan Kopecki; Remi and Vaughn Frazier; Alexander (Kaitlyn), Chris, Trenton, Cadence, and Liam Frazier; by his great-grandchild Ryan Ginapp; by his sisters, Susan Taylor and Stephanie "Missy" (Darel) McMeans; as well as by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
