Janice Jo Mayfield

Janice Jo Mayfield of Pipe Creek, Texas passed away October 13, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on August 24, 1941, in Pipe Creek, Texas to Howard and Josephine Ruede. She married Ernest D. Mayfield Jr. on June 3, 1961, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera, Texas.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Brenda Haegelin and husband Henry. Sons Mark Mayfield and Wade Mayfield. Brother Gene Ruede. Grandchildren Colton Haegelin, Kendal Mangold and husband Bradley, Cody Mayfield and wife Anabelle, Cheyenne Chafin and husband Rhett, Sage Mayfield and Hazel Mayfield. And great granddaughter Rynlee Ray Chafin.

Janice is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ernest D. Mayfield Jr. and her parents Howard and Josephine Ruede.

Janice was a homemaker at their ranch in Pipe Creek, Texas. She loved all animals from wildlife, birds, livestock and more, no animal was hungry around her and was always loved. Janice’s hobbies included sewing, gardening, and cooking. She had a passion for holiday decorating and making every occasion special for her family. Janice also loved travelling to watch her grandkids compete in multiple sporting events and livestock shows across Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on October 21, 2025, at Bandera Funeral Chapel. Rosary to begin at 7pm.

Funeral services will be at 10am October 22, 2025, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Father Kurzaj officiating. A private burial will follow at Mayfield Family Cemetery.
