Janie Ortiz

Janie Delia Ortiz, 72 of Medina, Texas passed away on Wednesday Sept. 13 at home surrounded by her beloved husband of 57 years Joe Ortiz and Children. Born March 18, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Eduardo A. Davis and Juanita Corpus Davis.\r\n\r\nShe is best remembered by her family and friends for her giving nature and her contagious smile. She was blessed with a spunky personality and often blessed others with her singing. It wasn't uncommon to walk into the house and find her dancing with her grandchildren. Many will remember sitting down with her listening for hours to story upon story about her love for her family. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by two of her sisters; Margarita Davis and Zenonita Lopez both of San Antonio, Texas.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her husband of 57 years Joe Ortiz of Medina, Texas; Daughter Debbie Reeves of San Antonio, Tx.; Son Joseph Ortiz and wife Tammy of Medina, Tx.; Daughter Christine Perales and husband Ismael of Medina, Tx.; Son Eduardo Ortiz and wife Laura of Medina, Tx.; Son Jacob Ortiz and wife Heather of Medina, Tx.; Daughter Lovelia Ortiz of Medina, Tx. Grandchildren Beau Saul and wife Dana, Joshua Reeves, Sara Ortiz, Wyatt Ortiz and Fiance Krystal, Salina Reeves, Zackery Sockol, Brooke Ortiz, Katelyn Markel, Kaylie Sockol, Jacob Davis Ortiz, Lauren Ortiz and Jose Ortiz. Great Grandchildren Olivia Longoria, Caiden Ruiz, Brooklyn Ruiz, Presley Ortiz and Emersyn Rose Ortiz.\r\n\r\nThe Ortiz Family would like to personally thank her team from River City Hospice, including Becky and Lauren; and her private sitters Stacy and Nicia that were with her throughout her final days. The viewing will be held Friday Sept. 15th from 5pm-7pm and the service will be held Saturday Sept. 16th at 11am at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera, Tx. with the burial to follow at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina, Texas.
