Judy "Nan" Hogue, age 81, of Kerrville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. She was born on July 6, 1936, in Neodesha, Kansas, to William and Helen Klontz Marqua. \r\n \r\nOn January 24, 1959, she married Eddie B. Hogue, Jr. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Later that year, she proudly graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She then embarked on a journey as a military wife. She made every house a home as her family traveled around the globe. Along with raising her children, she would work as a nurse wherever they were stationed, finishing her career at the Texas Department of Health in Kerrville. \r\n \r\nAfter retiring, she spent most of her time helping with her grandchildren. Her family always came first and she was so proud of all of them. She was such a special person and was "Nan" to all who knew her, whether they were family or not. An example of the impact she had on others was the family's annual Port Aransas Coast Trip, which became a highly anticipated celebration for friends and family alike. \r\n\r\nVisitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Friday, December 15, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. \r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 PM, on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, with Pastor Max Teague officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. \r\n \r\nShe is survived by 3 daughters, Karen Durkin and husband Robert of Universal City, Susan Witt and husband Troy of Kerrville, and Janet Ross of Kerrville; son, Scott Hogue and wife Jill of Electra, TX; grandchildren, Emily Witt of Kerrville, Ian Witt of Kerrville, Heidi Popham and husband Jake of Petersburg, TX, Bryce Hogue of Bells, TX, Brady Hogue and wife Kristen of Abilene; great-grandchildren, Slade Popham and Lyndie Popham. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family asks you to love and appreciate your family and friends, the way she loved hers. \r\n
