Kenneth Wade Huckabee, 67, of Pipe Creek, Texas, passed away on May 1, 2024. Born on February 27, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas, Ken led a remarkable life filled with dedication, passion, and service.

 

Ken's journey took him from various places, including Corpus Christi, Texas, Peru, South America, and Paxton, Illinois, where he attended Paxton High School before joining the United States Army. His love for horses led him to pursue a career as a farrier, graduating with honors from Midwest Horseshoeing School. For over 50 years, Ken dedicated himself to his craft, becoming a respected professional and mentor to many aspiring farriers.

  

In 1990, Ken and his beloved wife, Patricia Fairchild, established their forever home in Pipe Creek, Texas, where they shared 38 years of love and companionship. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion.

  

A man of faith, Ken was baptized into the Christian faith as a child, and his spirituality guided his actions and decisions throughout his life. He was a member of the Pipe Creek Community Church, where his presence will be deeply missed.

 

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene David Huckabee and Mildred Louise Smith Karr, stepparents Shirley Ann Pickard Huckabee and Delbert G Karr, and sisters Rebecca Underwood and Debbie Garcia.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, his children Kevin Huckabee (Briana), Keith Huckabee (Demi), Luca Holloway (Soizic), and Rebecca Huckabee, his grandchildren Kolton, Henry, Thomas, Easton, and Eloise, his brothers Steve Cumbie and Mike Karr, his sisters Karen Prentergast, Teresa Huckabee, Carla Carroll, and Jessika Taylor, and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

A memorial service will be held on May 18 at 4:00 pm at Pipe Creek Community Church, 289 Racquet Club Drive, Pipe Creek, Texas.

 

Ken will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
