K.R. Tuma, "Dick" to family and friends, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016. He was born in Chicago, IL to George Arthur Tuma and Freda Ruether Tuma on January 7, 1926. He is survived by son, Steve Tuma; daughter, Vicki Gold; sister, Jeanie Fischer; nieces, Lynn and Linda; grandson, Michael and one great grandson.\r\n \r\nDick was a World War II vet, serving in the Marine Corps. He received the Purple Heart on Iwo Jima and was very proud to have served his country.\r\n \r\nHe raced boats in his younger years and enjoyed restoring boats later in life.\r\n \r\nDick owned and operated Mesa Bronze Foundry in Center Point, Texas for over 40 years. He was a talented and meticulous foundryman; an artist in his own right. Among his favorite artists were G. Harvey from Fredericksburg, Texas. He cast G. Harvey's original works for many years and they became good friends. He also liked and did foundry work for Clay Dahlberg.\r\n \r\nHe will be missed.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be made to the VA Hospital Volunteer Services.\r\n \r\nThe family and friends wish to extend sincere thanks to the staff at the Veterans Hospital in Kerrville.\r\n \r\nInterment will be in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at an unannounced future time.\r\n
