Lanny David Ross passed away at home on Friday, August 11, 2017. He will be so very missed by his wife Patsy for he was the wind beneath her wings. Also surviving are his four dear and beloved children; Lanny Robert, Kathleen, Colleen and Patrick; and six grandchildren, Caitlin, Cameron, Ross, Connor, Alyssa and Conall.\r\n\r\nLanny was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1935 and from the time he built his first project - a pigeon coop when he was in the fourth grade, he wanted to be an engineer. He went to University of Detroit High School and received his degree in civil engineering from L.I.T. Later he founded Alana Construction Company, Inc. and moved to Austin, Texas. After retiring to Kerrville, he turned his talents to sculpture in both wood and concrete, and then woodcuts. He was a member of KACC and Hill Country Arts Foundation, Kerrville Woodcarvers and his cherished art group, Johnson Creek Press.\r\n\r\nServices will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kerrville on Friday, August 18th at 11:00 am. Please join the family at Tucker Hall directly after the service to view some of Lanny's art and have lunch and meet his family.\r\n\r\nDonations in his name can be made to Hill Country Arts Foundation.\r\nOur thanks to Peterson Hospice for their compassionate care and comfort.\r\n\r\nFuneral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.\r\n
