Lawrence Evan Oldham, 69 of Kerrville, Texas went to be with our loving Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 23rd at his home. He was born in Kerrville to Evan Eugene and Anna Marguerite Oldham on December 21st, 1946. He married Concepcion (Linda) Mesa on December 26th, 1969 at Clark Air Base, in the Philippines.\r\n \r\nLawrence attended Tivy High School where he received a top speller award in a U.I.L. Competition. In 1966, Lawrence joined the Air Force and served proudly from 1966-1974. Places that he served included Keesler AFB, Miss (1966), Perrin AFB, Tex (1966-1968), Wallace Air Station and Clark Air Base, Philippines (1968-1970), Plattsburgh AFB, NY (1971), and Little Rock AFB, Ark (1972-1974).\r\n \r\nHe always spoke fondly of his time served; especially the time he served in the Philippines. He loved God, his family and his country. Lawrence never met a stranger, he enjoyed visiting with his friends and was always willing to lend them a hand.\r\n \r\nLawrence is preceded in death by his grandparents, Norris J. Peterson and Esther Anderson Peterson and by his parents Evan Eugene Oldham and Anna Marguerite Oldham.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by Concepcion (Linda) Oldham of Kerrville, his son Lawrence Alan Oldham of Austin, daughter Christina (Oldham) Taylor and husband Brad Taylor of Fort Worth, daughter Jennifer Oldham of Kerrville, brother Timothy Eugene Oldham of Washington (state), grandchildren Griffin Oldham and Sterling Oldham of Kerrville and Benjamin Taylor and Caileigh Taylor of Fort Worth.\r\n \r\nFuneral Services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels (728 Jefferson) with Pastor Dittloff (retired) of Hosanna Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Lawrence Alan Oldham, Brad Taylor, James Michael McDaniel, Timothy Eugene Oldham, Jonathan Riley, Christopher Riley, and Brian Whitton (alternate).\r\n \r\nThe Oldham family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all for your loving kindness, your generosity, and your heartfelt prayers during this difficult time.
