Leona West

Leona James West, age 84 of Kerrville, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in a local care center. She was born October 9, 1930 in Kerr County to Guy and Omega (Allen) James. On November 8, 2008, she married Homer West in Kerrville.\r\n \r\nLeona had worked several years at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Cailloux Theater as an usher. \r\n \r\nShe is survived by husband, Homer West of Kerrville; daughter, Janice McGinnis (Norman) of Austin; sons, Dennis Lawless (Debbie) of San Antonio, Larry Von Alexander (Jane) of Austin and Lester Ris (Melissa) of Kerrville; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Friday, March 6, 2015, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015, 1 PM at Sunrise Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Mel Hardin.
