Lona Wilson Benson, 88 of Center Point, Texas, passed away on December 13, 2015 in Center Point. She was born in Wappapello, Missouri to Raimen and Ella Wilson on February 10, 1927. She married Ernest Page Benson on November 8, 1946 in Puxico, Missouri.\r\n \r\nShe went to school at Wappapello through the eighth grade and later married. She worked as a housewife and became a widow at the age of 30. She was left to raise her four beautiful daughters.\r\n \r\nShe is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Benson and daughter, Mary Ellen Dicks.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her daughters, Reta May, Marie Rhodes, Wilma Winningham and spouse, JC Winningham; grandchildren, Jody Dicks, Ron May, Rhonda Tamrongvith, Michelle May, Page Rhodes, Gavin Rhodes, Trent Rhodes, Macy Rhodes, Cheryl Winningham, and Joy Winningham; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Dicks, David May, Anna May, Richard May, Brittany Flake, Grace Tamrongvith, Abigail Tamrongvith, and Avery Winningham; great-great grandchildren, Gunner May and Kinsleigh Flake.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Morgan-Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Fred Wilson, officiating. Burial will follow at Puxico Cemetery.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Jody Dicks, Ron May, Page Rhodes, Gavin Rhodes, Trent Rhodes, and Joy Winningham.\r\n \r\nThe family of Lona Benson wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Sonlight Chapel, Hill Country Memorial Hospital, HCM Hospice, and her granddaughter, Joy Winningham RN, who took such good care of her.
