Luis Ramos Hernandez, age 84, of Kerrville, formerly of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017 in Kerrville. He was born on September 17, 1932, in Alpine to Hilario and Eustolia Ramos Hernandez. \r\n \r\nLuis graduated from Alpine High School. He then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1971, while in the service he was a commissioned peace officer and served as a military policeman. He was stationed in Germany, Japan and Turkey. While in the service he guarded planes for high ranking officials including President Lyndon B. Johnson. In 1957 he married Angelina Anaya in Alpine. After his military service, Luis worked for Budweiser Brewing for 10 years, then found employment with Levi Strauss. He then proceeded to open up his cleaning business, L & A cleaning Service Co. in El Paso, then later moved to Odessa. Luis retired and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He enjoyed following all sports and loved being around his family. Luis will be remembered for his patience, kindness and sweet disposition. \r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife, Angelina Hernandez of Kerrville; one daughter, Priscilla Carter and husband Fred of Monahans, TX; sons, David Hernandez and wife Belinda of Kerrville, and Sam Hernandez of Odessa; 6 grandchildren, Jason Hernandez, Lauren Carter, Sonja Aguirre, Nichole Carter, Autumn Vara, and Aften Vara; and 2 great grandchildren.\r\n \r\nRecitation of the Holy Rosary will be 6 PM, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Deacon Charles Domingues. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father David Wagner as celebrant. Graveside services will be held 1:15 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.\r\n
