Lynn White went to Heaven on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Bandera, Texas.
He was born in Birmingham, Alabama and was the oldest of his three brothers, Leslie, Byron, and Jeffery. His father served in the Air Force. Due to his father's military service, the family moved often, but Lynn's favorite place to live was England.
Lynn graduated from Southwestern University and began his teaching career in La Marque, Texas. He later moved to Bandera 45 years ago to help with school sports.
Lynn became Bandera's Jr High coach, he began teaching football and other sports. With all but ten boys signed up, they were eager and determined to play and it showed in their practices. In their first game their forward pass was caught and they ran with it, they made the play! It was an unforgettable moment for Lynn, the students, and their parents. Coaching was for Lynn.
Later, Lynn became the elementary P.E. teacher for kindergarten through 5th grade. He planned a variety of activities from dancing units to track, and filled the gym with music the kids loved. When we lined the students up for P.E., they would whisper, "What are we doing today?" He loved teaching P.E., and his students loved him just as much. Lynn taught in Bandera for over 25 years up until his retirement, he also started Teens for Christ at the Jr High.
After retiring, Lynn enjoyed woodworking, crafting toys and furniture in his workshop. He cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply. He loved playing ping pong, going camping, cooking out, and watching his grandkids play.
Lynn's life lessons were simple yet powerful: love the Lord, take care of family and be kind to your friends.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bandera Funeral Chapel.
