Mark E. Moore, 62, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on January 5, 2016, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on a military base in Geneva, New York, to Donald C. Moore and Yoshiko Kinjo Moore on July 11, 1953. He was married to Karen L. Moore on September 11, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada.\r\n \r\nMark attended Tomball High School his freshman through junior years. His family moved to San Antonio his senior year so he graduated from John Marshall High School. Mark spent three and a half years at the University of Texas as a business major, but he said he realized his passion was really in the engineering field. He joined the Toledo Scale Company as a technician and manager, where he got the opportunity to travel and even relocated a few times. Denver, Colorado was his favorite place and so he became a lifelong Broncos fan and his son, Brian, was born there. Mark moved back to Austin, Texas to form his own scale company, AMTEX, and his daughter, Amanda, was born soon after that move. He worked for the State of Texas as an IT mainframe specialist and that's where he met his wife, Karen. He took a position with Tracor for a couple years. Mark then secured a position at IBM where he was a networking consultant for 18 years. His last employment was network architect engineer at American Express as an IBM contractor.\r\n \r\nMark built his first Heathkit ham radio when he was 14. He's been a licensed amateur radio operator and member of ARRL since then, call sign WA5MM. After moving to Kerrville in 1999 he acquired a concealed handgun license and is an active member of the NRA. Mark has been a board member of the Cailloux Foundation since 2006.\r\n \r\nMark is preceded in death by his father, Don C. Moore. He is survived by his wife, Karen L. Moore; mother, Yoshiko Kinjo Moore; children Brian Moore and Amanda Willis; brother, Jerry Moore and wife, Elaine; grandchildren, Anthony Cheek and Alyssa Willis; and lifelong friend, Ken Cailloux.\r\n \r\nThe visitation will be Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels. The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Pastor Randall Hilburn. Immediately following the service, a funeral procession and the entombment will be at Garden of Memories Mausoleum.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Brian Moore, Ken Cailloux, Steve Ables, David Jackson, and Alan Stephens.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to American Heart Association (AHA) or National Rifle Association (NRA).\r\n
