Neal Taylor

Neal "C" Taylor, 93, of 1401 N. 16th Street, Ballinger, Texas, died at 3:20 PM, December 29, 2020 at home with family present.\r\n\r\nHe was born June 8, 1927, in Hunt, Texas to Virney James Taylor and Hilda Clara Brandt Taylor. He married Bertha Mae Nichols on May 18, 1949. They were married for 71 years, 7 months.\r\n\r\nNeal joined the Navy at 17 in 1944 to serve in World War II. He made a career of the Navy and retired with 30 years. After retirement, he worked for the State of Texas on a road crew. Later, he drove a school bus in Carthage, Texas before retiring.\r\n\r\nSurviving are his wife, Bertha Mae Taylor; one daughter, Nealene Taylor Brown of Ballinger, Texas; two grandsons, Terry Neal Taylor of Ballinger, Texas and Kenneth Michael Taylor of Missouri; and several great-grandsons.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Virney James Taylor and Hilda Clara Mogford; his brother, Eugene Taylor; sister, Margaret Malone; and several nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nHe will be buried with full military honors at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at 11:15 AM on Monday, January 11, 2021.
