Pamela James

December 16, 1945 — March 27, 2021

Pamela Carole Clayburne James, age 75, of Bandera, died peacefully Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Cedar Creek Nursing Home in Bandera. Pam was born December 16,1945, the daughter of Hal and Allene Clayburne. She grew up in San Antonio, attending and graduating from Marshall High School and UTSA. In 1967, she married Raymond James, and she enjoyed being a wife and homemaker, and then mother, when their daughter, Tracy joined their family. Tragically Tracy died from heart complications at the age of 3, but a son, Brett, was born in 1972 and became Pam's long-term focus. She spent many hours in research and in teaching him to help him overcome learning disabilities and was rewarded in his growing into an outgoing and loving young man who in return is well-known and loved by those with whom he comes into contact. Pam and Raymond lived in San Antonio, and then in Pipe Creek for many years, finally moving to Bandera where they could be closer to relatives. During most of that time Pam enjoyed the fellowship of the Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church and spoke so often of the ladies in the church with whom she worked. Pam loved shopping garage sales with Brett, classical music, flowers and gardening, sewing and quilting, horses and riding, and had a great love for all other animals as well. Her love for her cats, especially Sarah, a tiny rescue, was well-known and admired. Pam is survived by her husband, Raymond, her son Brett, her brother, Kenneth, niece, Cindy Reed Clemmons along with several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Martha and Lorraine. Services will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Duane Manning and Rev. Heather Hansen officiating. A graveside service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church at Helotes at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation at parkinsonsfoundation.org.
