Pauline Mosty

February 5, 1928 — January 12, 2015

Pauline Mosty, age 86 of Kerrville, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015. She was born in Kerrville on February 5, 1928 to Lawrence and Myrtle Evans. She was soon joined by sisters, Ernestine and Belva and by her brother, Scotty. She graduated from Tivy High School in 1945 and went to work at the Lower Colorado River Authority. On March 5,1951 she married Wheeler Mosty. In 1952 she gave birth to a son, Mark, and four years later to a daughter, Marla. When she and Wheeler retired from their jobs they became full-time grandparents to Mark's children, Dubs and Ana.\r\n \r\nPauline was a rare individual in a complex world. She was a true Baptist who without any religiosity projected the teachings of Christ. She loved unconditionally: all people, whatever their color, religion, or politics. Her family and friends never heard her speak ill of another. She always pointed out the good in others and did not dwell or discuss a person's foibles. She never drank, smoked, danced or cussed....not even mild swear words. Yet, she really knew how to enjoy life. Until she became too ill, she never missed a Kerrville parade. She played like a kid when her children and grandchildren were little...creating, imagining, and baking right along with them. She was an avid bell collector and made free wedding cakes over the years for many family and friends.\r\n \r\nOur family would not be what it is without her generous loving spirit. We will miss her more than words can express.\r\n \r\nHer mother, Myrtle; father, Lawrence; sister, Belva; brother, Scotty; and husband, Wheeler have all preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Ernestine Neunendorf; her sister-in-law, Marjorie Evans; brother-in-law, John Milford Mosty; sister-in-law, Kay Mosty; her daughter, Marla and her husband, Mark MacDonald; her son, Mark, his wife, Hilary and their children, John (Dubs), Analaura and their spouses, Mary Franzoza and Jimmy McCrae. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Emerson McCrae; and by many beloved nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Friday, January 16, 2015, 10 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Rev. Sam Ligon. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Thomas Evans, James "Red" Evans, Joel Evans, Tim Evans, John Wheeler Mosty and James McCrae.\r\n \r\nShe spent the last three years of her life in the loving care of the staff at Hilltop Village. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caretakers who loved her so much.\r\n \r\nDonations in her memory may be made to the Hill Country Youth Ranch, which was the favorite charity of Wheeler and Pauline.\r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
