Peggy Lewis passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2025 in Bandera, Texas. She was 77 years old.
Peggy was born on August 23, 1948 in Beeville, Texas to Foy and Gertrude (Horton) Osburn. She graduated from Boerne High School in 1966 and spent her career working as nail technician in San Antonio. After moving to Bandera, Texas she enjoyed working for many years at Arkey Blue’s Silver Dollar with her dear friends Arkey and Vivian.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Gary Lewis; her children Wayne Langbein (Tiffany Williams), Russell Langbein (Donna); her grandchildren Jordan Langbein, Hunter Langbein; step-daughter Melissa Trangmar and her children Jolene & Juliette; her siblings Roy Osburn (Joyce), Foy Osburn (Jackie), nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends whom she loved like family.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Foy and Gertrude Osburn.
Peggy loved all sports, but especially football. When Russell & Wayne were in high school, she made ‘game day’ purple pancakes for breakfast. She never missed a game and you could always hear her cheering loudly.
She married the love of her life, Gary Lewis, in 2012. They had a wonderful life together and she cherished her time with him. She was a great Mom and once she had grandchildren, she was then known as “Maw” and she treasured this role. She spoiled Jordan and Hunter; devoting her time and attention to them, always attending special events in their lives.
Peggy will always be remembered for her bright smile, quick wit, vibrant spirit and her love of family and friends. She loved spending time listening to Gary play music, gambling trips with her girlfriends playing her favorite slot machine, “The Green Machine”, and time with her children and grandchildren. Her friends at Arkey’s were dear to her and she loved them as family.
The family wishes to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your thoughts and prayers.
