Ramiro Gonzales, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Bandera, Texas, at the age of 90.

Born in Brownsville, Texas, Ramiro lived a long and hardworking life filled with family, stories, and love for those around him.

He met his wife, Francis Gonzales, while working in the fields in Michigan. They married in 1960 and shared 66 years together, building their life in Bandera, Texas. Ramiro worked as a ranch hand for many years before retiring at 65.

Ramiro was known for his hard work, humor, and friendly spirit. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, baseball, searching for arrowheads, rodeos, and especially trips to the beach. Most of all, he loved his family and took great pride in them.

He is survived by his wife, Francis Gonzales; daughters Georgina Ortiz, Martha Guiterrez, Emma Smythe, Julia Saldana, Maggie Moreno, and Vicky Wilson; son Juan Gonzales; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his son Ramiro Gonzales and grandsons Joseph Moreno and Mario Moreno.

Ramiro will be remembered for his love, laughter, and the stories he shared. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on August 21, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Bandera Funeral Chapel in Bandera, Texas with a Rosary to follow at 6 p.m.
