Richard Chatham Lee, age 76, passed away peacefully at the ranch in Pipe Creek, TX on April 26, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

Mr. Lee “Ricky” is survived by wife, Connie McCune Lee, cousin: Jay Lee and his wife Debbie, Gail Gifford’s stepsons: Scott McCune and Michael McCune. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren.

Richard “Ricky” was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served two years and ten months in combat with distinction. He was wounded several times during fire fights and received other commendations for his dedication and bravery such as a Purple Heart with 2 bronze stars, Vietnam Service Medal with one star, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device and a National Defense Service Medal. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him!

Ricky Lee grew up in nearby San Antonio, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Lee and followed the Marine corp. service by entering the construction business, after which he purchased a bar-b-que restaurant well known to Helotes locals as the Hickory Hut.   Ricky’s hobbies included fishing, guns and restoring classic cars for show.  He was always ready to help his family and friends and is dearly missed.

Services will be held at Ft. Sam Houston with military honors, contact Scott McCune for details 361-563-8862.
