Richard Newkirk

April 14, 1953 — July 30, 2021

Richard Keith Newkirk was called to Heaven at his home on July 30, 2021, in Canyon Lake Texas. He is survived by his wife Becky Newkirk, 3 older siblings Charles Donald Newkirk, Jeanne Beth Montgomery and Kelly Rae Morgan. He is also survived by his 3 sons Michael Glenn Newkirk, Chad Jeremy Newkirk and James Cody Newkirk. He had 5 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren whom he loved dearly! Keith was born in McAllen Texas to Charles James Newkirk and Lillian Christine Newkirk and graduated from Edinburg High school in 1972. He started a long career in the Oil and Gas industry. He was also a truck driver in his later years into retirement. Keith was known for his quick wit and corny jokes. He loved to make people laugh and his smile was priceless. He was also well known for his generous and loving heart. He loved everybody and they knew it! Keith's hobbies included playing bass guitar in his church in Colorado that he and Becky attended before moving back to Texas. He was also collected arrowheads and loved to feed the herd of deer that would accumulate in his yard daily. Above all, he loved the Lord. He will be missed. Funeral Services will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera Texas at 9 am on Saturday August 14th with graveside services to follow at Pipe Creek Cemetery. Viewing services will also be held Friday 13th from 2-7pm also at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera Texas.
