Rocky Rico, 63, of Bandera, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, in Kerrville, Texas. Born in Hondo, Texas, on January 23, 1963, to the late Martin and Guadalupe Rico, Rocky was a lifelong local who loved the community he called home.

Rocky grew up in Bandera, attending school from his very first day through his high school graduation in 1982. A hardworking man who appreciated the value of an honest day’s labor, he spent his years serving local businesses, including Clint Dowell Chevrolet, Mooney Aircraft, and James Avery. Rocky found joy in the simple things in life, moving through the world with a quiet, steady presence and a friendly spirit.

Rocky was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Martin and Guadalupe Rico; his sister, Rebecca Baker (Rico); and his brothers, Richard Rico and Rudy Rico.

Rocky’s memory will be cherished by his sister, Rhonda (Rico) Moreno, and her husband, Mario Moreno, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the medical team at Peterson Regional Medical Center, the Bandera County EMTs, and the staff at Bandera Funeral Chapel for their compassionate care during this time. A deeply special thank you goes to Vivian and Arkey, thank you for your unconditional kindness, for opening your hearts and home to Rocky, and for letting him be a cherished part of your family.
