Shirley Jean Qualls Conner, 82, passed away surrounded by family in Houston, Texas, on March 9, 2021. She is survived by son, John 'Robbie' Hardy (Scottie), daughter, Rania Conner Baldeschwiler (Matt); grandchildren, Brandon (Megan) and Brent Baldeschwiler, Logan Hardy Stillman (Bailey), and Conner Hardy; great grandchildren Mille and Jack Baldeschwiler; sisters, Janice Atwood and Patti Nix, and brother, Daylon Qualls; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Jack "Sonny" Conner, parents, Theodore Qualls and Vera Neill Hull, brother, Ted Wayne Qualls, and sister Lois Maxwell Rolin. Shirley was born in Poteet, Texas and spent most of her youth in Pleasanton, Texas. She and Sonny raised their family in the Calallen area and spent many weekends and summers traveling with the kids to wherever he was working making life-long friends along the way. His work also took their young family to South Africa for several years where they made many special memories. Shirley loved her family and friends, all of whom can easily picture her sitting around the table, laughing and telling stories. She was a fabulous cook and loved hosting family and friends. Her gardens and plants were second to none and all travel included looking for antiques or plants to bring home. Please join the family for visitation Saturday, March 13, 2021, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson, Kerrville, TX; funeral service Saturday, March 13, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at Center Point Cemetery in Center Point, TX on FM 480 between Center Point and Camp Verde. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Center Point United Methodist Church, 118 Church Street, Center Point, TX 78010 or Alzheimer's Foundation.
