Sue Johnson, age 74, of Kerrville passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015. She was born on March 10, 1940 in Norman, Oklahoma to Former State Senator Joe Smalley and Virginia Coleman Smalley. On April 5, 1957 she married Robert A. Johnson in Norman. \r\n\r\nRobert and Sue had three children and when her youngest child was 17, she attended the University of Texas Dental School and obtained a license in Dental Hygiene. She greatly enjoyed this occupation for nine years. Sue loved being on her farm in Bellville, Texas; raising Beefmaster cattle and driving her grandchildren around on their John Deere tractor. She was a wonderful cook, and loved to make meals for her family and friends. Some of her fondest memories were playing with her children and grandchildren in the Frio River on their ranch north of Leakey. After retiring in 1989, the Johnsons' enjoyed traveling extensively for 26 years in their Bluebird and Prevost travel buses. In her later years Sue enjoyed quilting for her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert A. Johnson of Kerrville; daughters, Kathy Adams of Dallas, TX, and Kerry Utley and husband Wayne of Fredericksburg, TX; son, Kent Johnson and wife Debbie of Bellville, TX; 2 sisters, Linda Bradford of Ohio and Jeanie Lauderdale of New Mexico; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. \r\n\r\nSue was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Former Oklahoma State Senator Phil Smalley and great grandson, John Woods. \r\n\r\nA celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 10:30 AM, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville, Texas. Her granddaughter Tera's husband, Reverend Justin Woods, US Air Force Chaplain, will officiate. \r\n\r\nBecause of Sue's love of animals, her family requests that memorials be made in her name to the Kathleen C.
