April 12, 1963 — September 7, 2020

Todd Michael Layton, 57, of Harper, Texas, passed away on September 7th, 2020. He was born in Dallas to David William Layton and Grace Theolyn (Zorn) Layton on April 12th, 1963. He married Wendy (Crider) Layton on April 4th, 2008 on the banks of the Frio River where Todd enjoyed many summers as a kid and as an adult. \r\n\r\nTodd was a graduate from Northbrook High School in 1982 (Houston) and received his Associate's Degree in HVAC from Austin Community College. He worked as HVAC maintenance at the Kerrville State Hospital for a number of years. Todd was a member of Wild Ride Ministries of Harper, United Methodist Church of Kerrville Men's Group & the Forge at Cowboy Fellowship in Atascosa County. \r\n\r\nIf you knew Todd for very long you would understand his passion of being outdoors. Camping, tubing the Frio and cooking were some of his many passions. If you were lucky enough you've tasted his famous beans, Frio river cookies or delicious chili and cornbread. He was excited to be with friends and loved everyone around him. He was so proud of his family. When the weather was right, you could find him riding around on his motorcycle enjoying the Hill Country views. Todd helped so many people and was such a giving person, without expecting anything in return. \r\n\r\nTodd was preceded in death by his father, David William Layton and father-in-law, Jerrel Crider. \r\n\r\nTodd is survived by his wife Wendy Layton; mother Grace Krienke and husband Roy of Round Rock; daughter Tabetha Layton of Yonkers NY; daughter Tara Raney & husband Scott of Austin; sister Terri Dumas & husband Dan of Pleasanton, brother John Layton & wife Paige of Round Mountain, sister Kimberly Blakely & husband Jim of Gause; mother-in-law Billie Ruth Crider; sister-in-law Amanda Lanahan and husband Mike, brother-in-law Skip Crider and wife Tiffany; nieces and nephews include Seth Dumas, Morgan & Austin Yount, Cody Dumas & fiancé Kaeleigh Horner, Abby Dumas, Sara Layton, Ava Layton, Justin Blakely, Ryan Blakely, Cade Crider & Gaven Lahanan. \r\n\r\nA celebration service in honor of Todd's Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12th, 2020 at Wild Ride Ministries in Harper, with Pastor Mike Weaver officiating. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to ALS Foundation (Lou Gehrig's), in memory of his late father David William Layton, https://www.als.org/get-involved/ways-give. or to Brush Country Emmaus Community, 191 North Trail, Pleasanton, Texas 78064, note Emmaus Scholarship in memory of Todd Layton. \r\n\r\nOur family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the family & friends, fellow church members and the Harper Community.\r\n
