Tommy Penick, age 75, of Center Point, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Kerrville. He was born on January 17, 1942, in Houston to Kirby Thomas and Marjorie Cathcart Penick. Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Army, from 1963 to 1966. On December 17, 1965, he married Shira Giles in Kerrville. Tommy owned and operated Penick Custom Farming for over 25 years. He and his wife Shira also opened the first Purina Feed Store in the area, in Ingram, in 1985.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife Shira Giles of Center Point; daughter Lisa McMullen and husband Patrick of Center Point; son, Mark Thomas Penick of Center Point; sister, Joanne Hannis of Evans, GA; brothers, K.T. Rhea Penick of Smithville, TX, and Byron Kirby Penick and wife Gracie of McKinney, TX; 3 grandchildren, Ryan McMullen, Keith McMullen, and Jessica Lackey; and 2 great-grandchildren, Mason Gage Lackey, and Elliot Lackey. \r\n\r\nA memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 11 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville with Pastor Robert Lockaby officiating. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
