William Hughes Young

William Hughes “Bill” Young of Bandera, Texas, passed away on January 17, 2026, in Bandera. He was born in Houston Texas on August 23, 1946. He was the son of Robert Howard Young and John Gillespie.

He was a member of the class of 1964 from Spring Branch High School in Houston. He received a bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu California.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a sister, Nelda Shenberger and husband Lloyd Shenberger, of Bandera Texas and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

At the wishes of Bill, there will be no services.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bandera Funeral Chapel. The family wishes to express thanks to Bandera Nursing and Rehabilitation and River City Hospice for the care given to Bill.
