Born January 6th, 1995 - Passed away March 11th, 2026
Zachary was born in Riverside, California and after graduating with honors from Cal State San Bernardino, he moved to Oregon and then North Carolina. He finally settled in Bandera, Texas where he had planned on meeting a good woman and creating a life and family with her. He had a passion for building furniture and a soft spot in his heart for animals and children. He enjoyed spending time with those he loved but truly enjoyed working as well. He wanted to make the world a better place. He made a huge impact on everyone he met with his intelligence and his sincere kindness. He loved helping people too. One of his first jobs was at a retirement community for Air Force veterans. He loved it there, and boy did the elders love him! He would go out of his way to brighten the days of the residents, especially the ones that didn’t get a lot of visitors. Zachary was one of the sweetest and most pure souls you’d ever meet. He never spoke an unkind word to or about anyone. He loved his family with all his heart. He was funny, but serious. His smile could light up a room, his laugh was contagious and when he hugged you, you could feel it in your heart. He recently became an uncle and proudly wore his shirt which stated, “The Best Brothers get Promoted to Uncle.”
God called him home during an intense thunder and lightning storm. After his passing, I found a note he had written. One line: “I love lightning storms.”
Zachary is survived by his loving parents, Garrett and Kristi; his sister, Marin; his Papa, George; his Grandpa, Gary; his Grandma, Nancy; his auntie, Jen; his uncle, Shane; his cousins, Justin and Ben; his great cousin, baby Oliver; his godparents, Sherri, Debrah, and Jaime; and his most beloved nephew, Xavier Iroh.
God welcomed home a great and faithful son. The Heavens gained a true earth angel. The world lost a once in a lifetime soul.
Zachary will be deeply missed but we rest easier in his absence, knowing he is with his Nana now… “LaMario” and “Luigi” reunited again.
Until we meet again, my precious son. Mama loves you more than words can say. I will remember all the good times we had.
